CAPITAL ASSISTANCE FOR HURRICANE RESPONSE AND RECOVERY EFFORTS (CARE)

PURPOSE OF CARE:  To support minor alteration and renovation projects and/or equipment costs to assist health centers impacted by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and/or in 2017, that will help ensure continuity of access to primary health care services in those hurricane-impacted areas.  


OVERVIEW: Approximately $60 million to fund an estimated 190 awards.
   •Up to $280,000 for health centers in AL, FL, GA, LA, SC, and TX;
   •Up to $560,000 for health centers in PR and USVI
•2-year project period: September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2020.

​ADCS' ROLE:  Architectural Design and Consulting Services provides Technical Assistance Reviews for the Department of Health & Human Services under it's multi-year SBA 8(a) contract vehicle.  ADCS reviews designs submitted by health-care applicants whose facilities are in FEMA-designated regions and have been adversely affected by the 2017 hurricanes.






ADCS serves as an extension of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) by providing Technical Assistance Reviews of the Alterations/Repairs of health care centers nation-wide through government funding of federal grants.
